What is so special about Babushka Dolls? Is it their cute shape or sweet faces?  Is it the secret they hold inside or the various colour combinations they come in?  To me, Babushka Dolls capture a lot about what’s simple, sweet and fun with a hint of intrigue. Read the doll’s history here.

we have two sets at home to play with. My kids love it when I talk about each one having a baby starting at Old Nanny had grandma, grandma had nanny nanny had mummy and mummy had you. One day you might have a baby too.

I’ve had my eye on those measuring cups for AGES. So sweet, aren’t they?

Me too! I’ve thought about buying those measuring cups more than once (but I’m sure my kids would run off with them, so they wouldn’t stay in the kitchen draw for long).

There is something really appealing about Babushka dolls, and I couldn’t put my finger on it until I was watching vintage sesame street with my kids and found a clip I remembered really clearly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNQV45Wichw

    Classic!

I have everything babushka. They’re absolutely charming. I have wall stickers in the spare bedroom, earings, bracelet, measuring cups, hair clips, necklace, drink bottle, bags, broach, and an actual set of dolls.

You know, I’ve never thought about this even though I’ve always liked the nested dolls.
I had no idea that there was a whole host of Babushka merchandise out there.

Interesting… the things one learn from blogs.
