My Style: Going Retro

As I was putting this outfit together, I thought this: I’m going retro! The retro era typically includes anything from the 1950’s to the 1980’s. I thought the only good thing to come out of the retro era was MacGyver. I was wrong.   While I don’t think hypercoloured T-shirts should ever be back in fashion — please no — retro has produced many products and ideas with merit. I particular like retro hair and decor. To me, retro’s simple lines, large shapes and bold colours, reek of confidence and fun. So yeah, I’m going a little retro with this look.

Do you want to look as ridiculous, I mean, as funky as me? No? Humour me. I take risks with fashion sometimes.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.

Necklace & Earrings: Kellie Christie (I’m wearing a Kellie Christie Brooch here)

Stretch Pants: Target Hand-me-downs

White Singlet: Katies

Blue Cardigan: Ezibuy

Shoes: Mathers

Hair: WOW Hair Inserts

Eye Make-up: Highlight Maybelline Seascape Lid Revlon Sunrise Sunset

What I love most: The Kellie Christie necklace.  It’s unique and super-funky.

Tip: Use fashion ideas from the past to reignite a little fun into your wardrobe.
