Nothing says spring like the colours of flowers. This photo was taken when our family visited the annual Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers. If you live in South East Queensland, make an effort to visit. It’s magical.
I love spring. There’s an undefined excitement in the air as the world wakes up. I want to bring that spark into what I wear. Spring fashion for me is fresh, full of colour and fun.
Dress: Target (current style)
Lace Cami: Intimo Flirt Camisole
Purple Cardigan: Target
Shoes: Op Shop $3
Eye Make-up: Revlon Sunrise Sunset (Same as the tutorial in My Style: Going Retro but I used purple instead of blue)
What I love most: Intimo Flirt Camisole. Mine is now 4 years old and still going strong. I have to mention the shoes though. How cute are they? And only $3. They are in perfect condition too.
Tip: I love the Maxi-dress but is it just me or are they getting lower? When I tried on this dress half of my bra was showing. Far out — I want to be comfortable and do not want to worry about my boobs falling out everywhere. So, I often wear my Intimo Flirt Camisole under low dresses. The camisole is the BEST one I have found for this purpose. It’s so pretty and feminine; yet is thin enough so not to add bulk. It gives a bit of mystery without saying “hello Australia, look at my chest”. No thanks.
What does spring fashion mean for you?

October 11, 2010 at 7:42 amI hear you about the feeling of spring! I love all the maxi dresses with their beautiful bright colours, and I love that camisole. I tend to wear singlet tops under my dresses, but i do find they are too thick…will keep an eye out for something pretty like what you have used.

October 11, 2010 at 7:58 amYeah, do that Kristie. If you are interested in the intimo one, just click on the link. I always feel feminine in that cami. WE LOVE SPRING!!

October 11, 2010 at 7:43 amI think spring fashion means three things (to me at least) – colour, flowers and dresses. During winter I seem to embrace black and red as my signature colours, so I love wearing fresher colours by the time September rolls around! I love your dress, it definitely ticks all of my ‘spring’ categories 🙂

October 11, 2010 at 7:56 amYou sound like me. I LOVE red and black in winter. And then by Spring time, I feel like I’m busting to put some colour into my wardrobe.

October 11, 2010 at 8:02 amBeautiful flowers and your dress is stunning! I love the colours, which match your beautiful blue eyes. We’ve had some lovely Spring days here in Welly, where I’ve pulled out my floaty skirts, but today is a horrendous weather day – complete with hail!!!

October 11, 2010 at 8:04 amOh dear! Not fun. So this Spring post wouldn’t help lol. Actually, it’s gone a bit ferral here in Queensland too. Spring came and then it got cold and rainy. Come back Spring! I miss you!
Hail!!! OH NO!!! Did the kids love it though?

October 11, 2010 at 8:43 amWhat I love: the way you used the flowers to echo the colours in the dress, and the way you combined the pics. You have flair!

October 11, 2010 at 9:26 amYeah, it’s been a while hasn’t it? 25! It’s freezing here today. I’ve had to put my lovely colourful dress away and I’m wearing ugly black pants and a 10 year old jumper today. HA! Come back Spring!

October 11, 2010 at 2:31 pmI love Spring too! I also agree about dresses getting lower and lower cut at the front! I might have to get myself a similar camisole, great idea:)

October 11, 2010 at 7:33 pmLovely outfit this time Kelly!
I looked at that very dress in Target the other day! But what I’m more interested in right now is those shoes of yours!
What I want to know is:
– How do you find wedges all day with the kids?
– Are they comfortable? I’m normally a flats/sandals wearer but REALLY want a pair of wedges for summer and have found a few reasonably priced styles.
Thanks for anotehr great style post!

October 11, 2010 at 7:59 pmOkay, shoes. They really are adorable.
If I was going to be out all day — running around — I probably wouldn’t wear these ones. I do find them comfortable though and could happily wear them for 3 hours or so. The good thing about wedges is they don’t feel so high-heel-ish.
I’ll tell you a secret: my favourite wedges that I can wear ALL DAY EVERY DAY are…. wait for it …. CROCS. No one can believe it when I tell them they are Crocs. I always get so many comments. I wear them to the beach, the pool, the park, shopping — EVERYWHERE.
Check this link to see what they look like. This is the pink but they come in lots of different colours. Crocs Sassari

I’ve had mine for a year and a half now and they are still wearing well. They are light on your feet and feel like a glamours thong. Best of both worlds I say.

October 11, 2010 at 8:03 pmNo. WAY!!!! I just had a look at the link… They look great!
Have you worn them in a style post yet? I don’t remember seeing them featured…
xo

October 11, 2010 at 8:08 pmBecause I started the My Style Posts in winter I’m pretty sure I haven’t featured them yet. As it gets warmer I’ll be wearing them heaps! So watch out for the Croc lol.
