When I take a little time to think outside of the box, I find many ways to reuse items around the house. One of my favourite ideas is to use a tea cup as a candle holder. I often look for pretty tea cups at a second hand shops for this reason.
Ways to use a tea cup
Tea-light candle
Dinner table centrepiece — place 3 or 4 in a row in the middle of the table
Light up a path for a special event or for Christmas
Use as a vase for small flowers
Isn’t that a little bit of happiness!
Do you have items you reuse around the home? I’d love to hear your ideas so I can try them too!
Kelly loves life at both ends of the spectrum: wearing high heel shoes one day and hiking boots the next; sipping tea out of a pretty cup and slurping hot coffee from a camping mug; challenging herself physically and stopping for quiet unhurried moments to feel the wind on her face. Kelly and her husband Matthew seek to live a fun and adventurous life with their four children and pet bird.
So pretty!
You could even take them to a candle maker to fill them with wax – I have a favourite at the markets and she fills my cute jars and containers with yummy soy wax candles.

October 25, 2011 at 1:30 pmThis is a fun idea. A friend used to use them too. To increase stability, she would glue the cups down first.
