Macleans Mums asked me if I would like to ask a personal question of French Chef Manu Feildel about Dads in the kitchen. Um, yes please! I’ve had a soft spot for Manu, ever since I saw him on Ready Steady Cook, many years ago!
The saying goes “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach”. On the other hand, what satisfaction do men achieve by creating food for their family?
Don’t you love the way he says, Kelly Burstow? Thanks for answering my question Manu.
I chatted to my husband about this topic because I was interested to see what he had to say. When we first married, he could make chocolate cookies and fish, and that’s about it. These days, he often cooks for our family and he’s actually a much better cook than I am! I asked him why he likes to cook and this is what he said:
“I love cooking for our family because I like to create. It’s fun to try new things. I started with very simple recipes and my skills just grew over time. It helps that Kelly is willing to let me in the kitchen and experiment.”
That’s nice to know Matt.
Any other men out there enjoy cooking?
