Teen Study Corner

When my daughter hit the senior years of schooling, we found she really needed a dedicated study space in her room. Before this, she usually worked at the kitchen table and that was fine. However, as the workload increased (we live in a busy home with six people), she found it best to work in her room. Her room is quite small, so we only had a small space to work with. To economise the space, we went with a small desk and a trolley.  We’ve had this set up for two years now (for both grade 11 and 12) and it has worked very well. Just the other day, I was laying on my daughter’s bed while I was quizzing her on geography definitions, and I asked her if it was still useful — and she said she really liked the space.

All up, it cost just over $200.

In her room she has:

  • Bed (obviously)
  • Study corner
  • Book case
  • Towel rack (purchased form Howard’s Storage World – where she puts her school shoes/towel and hangs her school uniform)
  • Air purifier
  • Build in cupboard

Hi Kelly, love the space you have created for your girl.
On a side note – where did you get the towel/show rack? Would like to find something similar for my boys x
