It was a mistake to tell my soon-to-be-in-prep girl that she would start school after Christmas. Do you realise how long after Christmas school actually starts? To an excited 5-year-old it’s a very long time. Trust me. So yeah, we’ve been talking about school for a little while now. My kids love picking out groovy name labels for their school belongings and, believe me, you need to label EVERYTHING that goes to school.
When it comes to labels, I’m a sucker for the gorgeous designs at Mooo. These adorable medium sized bags are perfect for children starting school. They are just the right size for small people and the personalised bag can be clearly recognised by the child.
Chalkboard Wall Stickers
These chalkboard stickers are so cool! Very handy for older children to leave notes like “library tomorrow” or “swimming”. I think I need one for the kitchen too.
Family Calendar
I have three kids at school this year. THREE! Far out, I find it hard to keep track of music days, library days, sport days, swimming days, excursion days and everything else involved in schooling. Those tound ones would be good to stick inside kids shoes (at the heel) since most primary schools have adapted the “shoes off” policy inside the classroom. So a with a personalised sticker, the kids wouldn’t get their shoes mixed up!
(especially when there’s only like one place to shop from, everybody has the same shoes lol)

January 10, 2011 at 9:09 amI made the same mistake of telling my Kindy Girl that she’d be going after Christmas. We’ve made up a calendar for January with all (any!) special events marked, so she can cross off the days until the 28th when she actually starts. Its working well.

I’m worried that I’m going to have to buy a new jumper, lunch box and bag every day because he always forgets where he puts things. The teacher has already been alerted but these labels would definitely help us find those missing objects

It’s definitely going to be an early wake-up on the 24th!! We’ve just moved house, so some pre-prepared labels would be jolly useful instead of handwriting for both the girls…
