This is a quick blog post from Koh Samui in Thailand. It’s my first visit to the country and I’m struck with the beauty that surrounds me and the kindness of the people who live here. I’m here in Thailand on a scent inspired journey by Ambi Pur. More on that soon. In the meantime, I want to share with you a little of what I experienced today.
Love the Moment Moments
The beauty around me is inspiring. Below are some of the Love the Moment Moments I enjoyed:
Bringing my hands down in the water and watching tiny white bubbles dance in the blue through my goggles.
Hearing the crunch of the sand under my feet.
Feeling the wind tear through my hair on a boat trip.
Looking out at a seemingly endless sea of turquoise blue water fringed with elegant palm trees.
Eating beautiful Thai food for lunch.
Listening to my breath as I sucked air through a snorkle.
Indulging in my first ever facial.
Floating in warm water with only my feet and face exposed.
Feeling the warmth of the sun on my face.
All these things, they remind me to truly appreciate my senses, even when I’m home again. There is beauty everywhere to enjoy!
An easy idea to take home with me for the house
Beside the bed in my absolutely gorgeous hotel room, is a jar of cinnamon sticks. This is such an easy idea for the home. It has a lovely rustic fragrance and looks simple yet elegant. This is an idea I’m taking home with me.
I want to share images with you so you can see what I see and put words together so you can feel what I feel…but I’m so tired at this moment and can hardly think. I feel relaxed, just tired. You know when you stop, and then realise how tired you are? That is where I am right now. It’s a wonderful thing to step back from the ordinary realms of my noisy and chaotic life but I miss my husband and kids. I can’t win really. When I’m home, I very very often sometimes dream of quiet moments when I can eat my breakfast cereal in one sitting and sleep in a bed without a million children visitors. However, here I am, in a stunningly beautiful and very quiet room, with a bed all to myself, and I can’t help but wish I could share these amazing experiences with the ones I love most. Such is the nature of these things — Yes? I need to sleep now…and dream that my son’s arms are around my neck. In the morning, there is adventure waiting.

August 31, 2011 at 9:43 pmOoh have a great trip. Hubby and I lived in Bangkok in the 90s – was amazing, but crazy back then (pollution so bad that when we got home from work I would wash my hands and the sink would blacken!). The food is amazing and Thai people are amongst the nicest you will ever meet.

September 1, 2011 at 11:05 amKoh Samui is our most favourite place in Thailand. Your description makes me feel like I’m there again – almost. 🙂 Get a Thai massage – they are amazing. Try a lemon shake and a “pancake” from a street vendor. Simple but amazing.

September 1, 2011 at 5:50 pmHow come you are there? (or did I miss a post..?)
And whereabouts in Koh Samui?
I know there are a few ‘retreat’ resorts in K.S. and I was looking them up just the other day!
Have a fabulous time! If you visit any beaches in Phuket I recommend heading down to the pristine non-touristy Kata-noi beach. Love A*
