I can’t remember the last time I was so excited about an accessory, well, other than shoes of course. It started with the day I met Melissa, mum of five, at a park. We clicked right away: She’s spunky, smart and makes gorgeous pendant necklaces. I’m so in love with them! I have already purchased necklaces for my girls and you can see in the pictures further below, just how much they love them.
The necklaces are not only for girls though; Melissa made a special ‘Love the Moment’ necklace for me. I love wearing my inspiration around my neck. I think that’s the very thing that makes these necklaces so special: it’s jewellery that holds significance. It means something.
“I love wearing my inspiration around my neck.”
The pendants are made from clear resin (not glass tiles) and are embellished with a Swarovski crystal charm which makes them extra pretty.
Melissa’s Inspiration
When I talked to Melissa about what inspired her to make these pendant necklaces, this is what she said:
“I wanted my girls to have a treasured piece from me that could remind them of just how much they are loved.”
Melissa also said she didn’t plan to start a business but received many requests from admirers, so Lisellie Designs was born.
A Very Special Gift
About half of my gift purchases for the year are sorted: grandmother, nieces, sisters, daughters, friends and even the end of the teacher gift. Booyeah!
Loved Beyond Measure
These are my girls with their necklaces. They are now at the age where they enjoy jewellery and know how to take care of it. Love them. I took way too many pictures because I felt so inspired.

Designs
There is a wide range of ready-made designs on the Lisellie Website and Facebook Page but the most exciting thing is Melissa can make custom necklaces with whatever words you like. The chain can also be adjusted to a preferred length if required.

March 26, 2012 at 11:19 amOh I love “Love the Moment” the best – I really need to remind myself to do this every single day. At the moment I feel like I’m failing quite miserably at this! I am so worried I’m go to worry my 1 and 2 year olds lives away and wake up one day and realise they are all grown up and while the house may have been clean I have missed so many little moments with them. Trying so hard to stop and live and love in the moment!

March 28, 2012 at 1:40 pmI am really loving “love the moment”. I have been struggling a bit lately, we have moved to rural NSW away from our families, welcomed our third child, sent our eldest off to preschool and started studying! I am learning to just stop and love the moment. I absolutely love these necklaces and will be getting some for our kids. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

March 29, 2012 at 7:15 pmMy mum is battling cancer and if she does not begin responding to the treatment soon, her doctors have told her she has less than a year left. When I was growing up she always told me that she loved me ’round the world and back again.’ So that is what I’d pick for her, to have with her all the time – because that’s how much I love and admire her

March 29, 2012 at 7:16 pm“Infinity and beyond”
My son and I agree that, although technically impossible, mummies can love their kids beyond infinity (and kids can love their mummies beyond infinity too!). It’s a special kind of love reserved only for that between parent and child. 🙂
These necklaces are goooorgeous. I also love your “love the moment” one – something I consciously work towards, more and more, especially in those moments that you would rather hate!

March 29, 2012 at 7:20 pmMy ideal inspirational necklace would either say ‘be foolish’, ‘make something out of nothing’, ‘be courageous’. I’ve always been teased for my supposed inability to grow up, which is really just my creative and shameless nature having stayed with me into adulthood, thus be foolish. Mak(ing) something out of nothing is my favorite lyric from my favorite song from Rent, because the ability to create something pretty and/or useful out of nothing (I.e. ‘trash’/recyclables, junk) is something I inherited from my grandfather. And be courageous, because women often let ourselves be knocked down or taken for granted, and we need to encourage one another to stand up for ourselves. Oh, and one more, for my 5 year old daughter, ‘anything can happen, if you let it ‘
