I can’t remember the last time I was so excited about an accessory, well, other than shoes of course. It started with the day I met Melissa, mum of five, at a park. We clicked right away: She’s spunky, smart and makes gorgeous pendant necklaces. I’m so in love with them! I have already purchased necklaces for my girls and you can see in the pictures further below, just how much they love them.
The necklaces are not only for girls though; Melissa made a special ‘Love the Moment’ necklace for me. I love wearing my inspiration around my neck. I think that’s the very thing that makes these necklaces so special: it’s jewellery that holds significance. It means something.
“I love wearing my inspiration around my neck.”
The pendants are made from clear resin (not glass tiles) and are embellished with a Swarovski crystal charm which makes them extra pretty.
Melissa’s Inspiration
When I talked to Melissa about what inspired her to make these pendant necklaces, this is what she said:
“I wanted my girls to have a treasured piece from me that could remind them of just how much they are loved.”
Melissa also said she didn’t plan to start a business but received many requests from admirers, so Lisellie Designs was born.
A Very Special Gift
About half of my gift purchases for the year are sorted: grandmother, nieces, sisters, daughters, friends and even the end of the teacher gift. Booyeah!
Loved Beyond Measure
These are my girls with their necklaces. They are now at the age where they enjoy jewellery and know how to take care of it. Love them. I took way too many pictures because I felt so inspired.

Designs
There is a wide range of ready-made designs on the Lisellie Website and Facebook Page but the most exciting thing is Melissa can make custom necklaces with whatever words you like. The chain can also be adjusted to a preferred length if required.

March 29, 2012 at 7:49 pmI have been challenged by the words of CS Lewis “When I was ten I read fairy tales in secret…Now that I am fifty [….well almost forty] I read them openly. When I became a man [in my case a woman] I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” – C. S. Lewis [added text by Me]
For April I have decided to get in touch with my inner child and am going to do something childish everyday. I am pretty good at tantrums, but that isn’t what I had in mind, more like put on gumboots and go and splash in puddles type of thing. So for me, my necklace would say….. ’embrace your inner child’.

March 29, 2012 at 8:28 pmI’d wear my father’s words so often spoken to me, “Live and Learn”… they sound like forgiveness and encouragement all rolled into one. Probably because when Dad said, “Live and Learn” it meant “let go of the past, you can’t change it. Learn from it, and walk courageously into the day.” So now, when my children come to me with a confession, or a disappointment, I say “Live and Learn” and we dig into making things right, or cleaning up the mess!

March 29, 2012 at 9:10 pmThese are lovely! I really love “Love the moment!”… If I were choosing something unique I’d have “Peach, plum, pear” – it sounds totally random, but it’s a personal reminder to me about being true to myself.

April 1, 2012 at 2:53 pm“Love the moment” is inspirational. I would gift this necklace to a dear friend who has been strong and courageous, displayed grace, remained positive and brave as she has lived with cancer. She is doing well and ” love the moment” is very symbolic of her journey. Thank you:)
