Plastic Bowl Boat

plastic bowl boat

I appreciate the value of simple play ideas that are more about a concept rather than an object.  With this in mind, the children and I went to the local lake late one afternoon, armed with the bottle and bowl boats we made.  The younger children ran along the lake side while the older children looked for birds with the binoculars.  Delightful. Simple. Fun.  We will be doing this again.

Materials

Plastic Plate (or empty bottle)

Hole punch

String

Instructions

Bowl Boat: Punch a hole in the side of the plastic bowl. Thread through a long piece of string.

Bottle Boat: Tie a piece of long string around the neck of the bottle.
