Favourite Crisp Bread Toppings

This is a sponsored post for Ryvita and Digital Parents Collective (S1 post)

I’ve enjoyed Ryvita crisp bread for many years.  Recently, I’ve been keeping a food diary as part of a fitness challenge I’m doing, and you can see Ryvita popping up in my diet as a meal, snack or sprinkled on soup.  I really enjoy the taste, crunch, convenience and the simple ingredients (Wholegrain Rye Flour & Salt). Plus I find the size of the crisp bread helps with portion control.

This week, one of my favourite Ryvita topping recipes is featured in the Woman’s Day Magazine. For no other reason but for an opportunity to be creative AND it’s cool, I made this animation (click below to play it).  Miss 12 did the honours of eating this beauty for me (this is one of her favourite combinations too).

Yum that looks amazing! I’m more of a dip fan myself but I can’t resist string cheese and red grapes on crackers…brings back church camp memories. : )

Sardines & iceberg lettuce – the lettuce is crisp & fresh – a perfect foil for the tasty morsels of fish.

I like sweet gherkins sliced (the ones available in jars) with cheese on crispbread. It has the perfect mix of tanginess with the gherkins and I love cheese! It’s simple and quick – and it’s easy to store in the fridge for a quick snack because both gherkins and cheese stay fresh in the fridge for a while. 🙂

Have you tried gherkin relish? A favourite breakfast of mine is crackers with a slice of ‘plastic’ cheese and gherkin relish spread on top!

Years ago I heard someone say you could microwave Ryvita! Turns out vegemite and cheese, blitzed in the microwave for 10seconds is AMAZING on Ryvita. Try it!

A yummy topping would be refried beans and guacamole. For a great ‘nacho’ taste on a Ryvita instead of a corn chip. Better for you too!

I love making a mini pizza on mine with some sauce, and any toppings then add some grated cheese and very lightly grill just to melt the cheese a bit.

Avocado, poached chicken, cranberry sauce, swisse cheese and toasted pinenuts. The textures are a great mix and add such variety, and the savoury nuts and sweet cranberry sauce just make it a lunch to definitely look forward to.

My favourite topping, for Ryvitas and pizzas alike, is mashed banana and crispy bacon. The two different textures and the sweet/salty combination works brilliantly. Please try it, people!

Cream cheese, banana, pistachios, cinnamon and honey are favourite toppings in our family.

This is how i love to make it……
    – spread some cream cheese over the Ryvita crispbread to start with .
-A few round slices of bananas were placed on top.
    -sprinkle some chopped pistachios .
    – a sprinkle of cinnamon and a drizzle of honey.

This combination works for us because everyone in the family loves it and eat it happily.

Popeye’s delight – spread Ryvita with avocado, top with baby spinach leaves, sliced tomato (or cherry toms) and cracked salt/black pepper – then drizzle with balsamic vinegar glaze (thick)

It contains healthy fats, greens (iron) and a fruit in a quick tasty combination that is delicious on the lips but light on the hips.
