I call it dippy egg. I’ve been trying to work out how to best do them because I haven’t found a perfect method that makes the yolk soft in the middle but the white of the egg firm. I asked on my Facebook page and there were heaps of tips and ideas. So many different ways, in fact, that I may have been more confused than ever! You can read the feedback here.
I ended up picking one of the methods mentioned on the thread, aka Heston’s method (found a little video here).
- Put a egg from the fridge into a saucepan with tap water.
- Bring to boil and immediately take off the heat.
- Cover with lid and allow to sit for 6 minutes.
- Remove and eat immediately.
Tip: if y0u have more than one egg to cut, put the others into cold water so they stop cooking
Worked for me!
