I like staying up late. The house is deliciously quiet. I was walking around, double checking the doors and peeking at each of the kids, and my teen was still awake. She called out, “What are you doing mum?”
“Just doubling checking the house and looking over you kids.”
“That makes me feel safe,” I heard her say from the darkness.
“That’s my job,” I said with a smile.
It’s not only my job, it’s my privilege to create a haven for these children of mine. It’s what we do as mums, don’t we?
