BBQ Chicken Seasoning

Make your own BBQ Chicken seasoning

Hot Chooks! I love a shop bought hot chicken! Convenient, not much more expensive than baking your own, oh and the flavour! Have you ever wished you could re-create the same seasoning?! I think I may have come close! Check it out!

Ingredients

6 tablespoons salt

3 tablespoons curry powder

3 tablespoons black pepper

1.5 tablespoons paprika

1.5 tablespoons chicken seasoning

1.5 teaspoons garlic salt

Olive oil for cooking

Method

1. Add all ingredients in a bowl, mix well. Rub the chicken with a little oil and sprinkle on a desired amount of seasoning on the chicken before roasting.

Tip: You can store this seasoning in an air tight container in a cool cupboard.

2. Roast the chicken. As a general guide, 1.5kg whole stuffed chicken takes about 30 minutes per 500 grams of weight to cook in an oven preheated to 180°C. When chicken is cooked, cover it with foil. Set aside for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Variation: I use the same seasoning on strips of chicken breast. Toss in the mixture before oven baking and use in toasted wraps. Great with salad and sweet chilli sauce and sour cream!
