Scented Play Dough

Lavender Scented Play Dough

I love the smell of lavender, and recently I made a batch of play dough and scented it with essential oil. Below is how to make a small batch of play dough, and you can double, triple this recipe for different colours/scents. Lemon, orange, rose, peppermint are favourites.

Ingredients

1/4 cup of salt

1/2 cup of plain flour

1 tablespoons of cream of tartar

1/2 cup of water

2 teaspoons oil

Drop of essential oil

food colouring (optional) – to make a lilac colour, I used 3 drops of red and 1 drop of blue food colouring

Instructions

1. Add ingredient to a saucepan and combine well.

2. Cook over a medium heat, stirring well. The gloopy mess will become sticky, then clumpy. This only takes few minutes.

3. Ball up the play dough and that’s all there is to it! Smells wonderful!

4. Repeat the process for different colours/scent.

Tip: Store play dough in a zip lock or air tight container. I tend to keep it in the fridge.

Scented Play Dough - smells delicious!
