Today I am reviewing gorgeous little story boxes which are specifically designed to be given as a personalised gift to someone you love. The idea behind the Story Box is to fill a frame with figurines that, when looked at collectively, tell a story.
It is actually quite romantic and it took me a little while to decide on what story I wanted to tell in my frame. I have 3 young children and thought it would be a nice idea to share with them the story of our family (with some of the figurines dedicated to the time before we had children).
The process of customising my story box was very simple. First I selected the type of frame that I wanted, then I searched through the miniatures available to choose the ones that best told my story. I found it quite easy to find the items I was looking for. There are 700 miniatures to choose from and some can be further personalised but adding your photos or text. Take a look at some of these adorable miniatures!
The screen shots below show that you can select your miniatures from the list on the left and drag them across and position them where you want them to sit in your frame. If you’re customising a box, it will keep a tally of the items.
If you have chosen any items that can be customised, it will ask you to upload photos or add text in the next step. I chose a gorgeous little photo frame and uploaded a photo of my children in it. I also chose a stack of books and I could add any text I like to the spine of the books. I chose ‘Love, Laugh, Family, Forever’.
The end result is a gorgeous little frame that looked exactly like my online design. The miniatures are glued in place so your story doesn’t get muddled up. It did cross my mind that it would be a bit of a pain to clean when the miniatures get dusty but the frame comes with a clear cover that will prevent this from happening.
My daughter loved it and wanted it to take pride and place in her room. It is lovely way to relay a story and one that you can always reflect upon. If you don’t want to build your own box, there is also the option of ready-made boxes with a theme (baby boy/girl/birthday/anniversary). If you are nostalgic kind of person, this would make a beautiful and unique gift for an anniversary, special occasion or just because. What an amazing and unique idea!
The story that I would tell, would be our journey to becoming a family – engagement, wedding, honeymoon, and most importantly, having our little girl. This would make a perfect gift for my husband, who longed for a baby for so many years! After an awful childhood, he has always wanted to right the wrongs of his father – and it has definitely made him the best Daddy ever! He would love this.

If I were lucky enough to win a Story Box I would use it to celebrate being a Mum by filling it with things that remind me of those precious first kisses and cuddles, of outings and fun, of sticky fingers and even sleepless nights but most of all love that I never knew was possible. My babies are growing up too fast and I would love a reminder of all that and more. Xx

I would use this opportunity to celebrate my relationship with my big sister. I would fill it with photos and things that ignite memories from our childhood. She would love it!! Such a great keepsake!

Wow, Make a Story Box is a work of genius! I love the concept and can already think of 20 different stories I could tell! I would love to do one for each of my children (3 bubs) however they are still very young and I think I would need to update with new ones every 5 years! That’s not to say that I still wont do one for each of them 😉
Most people adore their parents – its a given – however I have the most generous, thoughtful, supportive and loving mum and dad. My two brothers and I are truly blessed. They have provided so much emotional, physical and financial support to me and my family that its hard to know how to repay them, even though I know they dont want or expect to be.
I try to find unique and meaningful gifts for my parents each year for Christmas and birthdays and I just know that this would be an amazing gift for them. I would try and pack in as much as I could from their meeting, wedding, birth of children, first home, love of travel, their beloved pets, grandchildren and now retirement. They deserve so much and I know that they would love a Story Box to remind them of everything that they have achieved together in their 50 years of marriage. Personally, I look forward to hearing the amazing conversations it will open up 🙂

?? this idea!
I want to make one for our daughter for her 2nd birthday (this week) full of the things that tell the impact she’s had on our lives & the fun stuff she loves to do now such as reading books & drawing, playing at the park & with her cousins 🙂

What an incredible, unique product Story Box is!
I would love to make a box that tells my two young boys the story of their grandpa (my dad). He passed away not long after my first son was born, and our second son is named in his honour. A Story Box would be a very special, visual way that I could teach my boys about the kind, loving, generous, strong man their grandpa was and to share some stories from his life.

I would love to make a story for my daughter, from her arrival to now, ready for as she turns 10. It will be a great unique keepsake for that special double digit birthday.

I would like to create a story box for our upcoming wedding anniversary. The story would be about our life together to date which has included living and travelling to four different countries, my husband immigrating to Australia. Living in various cities and of course having our three beautiful children together. Congratulations on such a unique product.
