One Minute Make-Up Routine

Don’t laugh at my micro-management. I have fine-tuned a 1-minute, 2 minute and 5 minute make up routine, depending on how much time I have in the morning and where I’m going. I have a 10-minute routine too, but that is for extra special occasions.

I enjoy playing with a variety of different beauty items, and I often come back to Garnier BB Cream. It acts as a moisturiser, contains a light foundation, corrector and sunscreen. I use it as a daily moisturiser, foundation, or foundation base, depending how much time I have.

Below is a snapshot of my very quick every-day make up looks. I did all this hurriedly late one afternoon and the lighting got tricky at the end but the gist of the different levels of make up is there.

no make up, 1-minute routine, 2-minute routine, 5-minute routine

Quick make up routines

1-Minute Make Up

This takes me less than a minute, and then I run out the door.

  1. Garnier BB Cream, which acts as a moisturiser and light foundation
  2. Concealer under the eyes.
  3. Blush on the cheeks.
  4. Eyebrow brush – I usually like to pencil it a little but I don’t usually get time in my 1-minute routine. (If you have thick eyebrows like I do, you’ll understand why an eyebrow brush is so imperative, even in a 1-minute routine!)
  5. Lip gloss

2-Minute Make Up

The only added step in this one is mascara, eyebrow pencil and a little powder on the face.

  1. Garnier BB Cream, which acts as a moisturiser and corrector
  2. Concealer under the eyes
  3. Translucent powder over the top
  4. Blush on the cheeks
  5. Eyebrow pencil and brush
  6. Mascara
  7. Lip gloss

5-Minute Make Up

five minute make-up routine

This is for when I still need to do my make up quickly, but I want a more made up look that lasts the day.

  1. Garnier BB Cream, which acts as a moisturiser and foundation base
  2. Foundation
  3. Concealer under the eyes
  4. Translucent powder to set it all
  5. Blush on the cheeks and slight definition under cheek bones
  6. Eyebrow pencil and brush
  7. Eye shadow: light shade covering lid, darker shade in crease and outer third of each eye. Blend.
  8. Eyeliner under eye and top third of upper lid. I use a flat brush to soften it
  9. Mascara
  10. Lip liner and lip gloss

I like having these sorts of systems in my life, because I enjoy wearing make up, and it means I can confidently budget time effectively amongst the busyness of family life.

Love it! What a great idea to tailor to your time. I usually just skip makeup but am now inspired to at least create a 1-minute routine 🙂

Love seeing the different results! Great tips, I had no idea why BB cream was so popular (I feel like I keep hearing about it!) but I love the idea of a moisturiser sunscreen and foundation all in one!

I use the Garnier BB cream daily too. Love that it moisturisers and acts as a sunscreen and generally it’s about all I have time for. I generally always wear mascara as well as it helps make me look more awake, haha. Which concealer do you use?
