My daughters LOVE following Elise from My Cupcake Addiction on Instagram. My third daughter turned 12 recently, and she wanted to recreate the Candy Box Cake below. It turned out AMAZING and it was really achievable too. You can find Elise’s video below and all the ingredients and instructions over on her blog here.
I used a different cake mixture than Elise (for the cake part); it’s the recipe I always use when I make birthday cakes and you can find the recipe here. The candy I used can be found at Candy Time. The good thing about this cake is you can pick whatever lollies you like! When I was purchasing the ingredients, I was concerned the blocks of chocolate wouldn’t be big enough (I used the Lindt White Chocolate block, 100 grams). When you look at the blocks, you wonder if the cake will be big enough for all the lollies, considering the cake will be as long as a block of chocolate. However, it really is! Just follow Elise’s instructions and it works out beautifully. You can find our version further below.

I had this bookmarked from earlier and am making it for my daughter this week. She is so excited! Thank you for sharing.
With the cake, did you triple your vanilla cake recipe to make 3 separate vanilla cakes? What size tin did you use?
Many thanks!

April 16, 2018 at 4:07 pmHi Marissa,
I just did one batch and made one cake (the recipe makes a pretty big cake) and then I cut it in half. so I had two layers. The size tin I used was 34 centimetres by 23 centimetres.
Hope that helps! The cake was a hit at our place!
Happy birthday to your daughter.
