Jennifer and I filming up a storm at the markets in Jerusalem.
Last year, I travelled to Israel with four women from around the globe with not-for-profit company Vibe Israel. It was an incredible experience. When you travel with people, you can’t help but bond in a special way, and I consider these women the sort of friends that could visit Australia and drop in on me anytime. I did a short interview with each of the women while I was in Israel. Meet Jennifer.
Jennifer Borget, a former journalist, is based in Austin, Texas, where she lives with her husband and three children. With her blog, Cherish 365, Jennifer aims to make a difference by encouraging others to cherish every day.
On this particular day in Israel, Jennifer and I shared a taxi on our way to meet with a group of female entrepreneurs in Tel Aviv. What struck me about Jennifer is her warmth and ability to look for beauty in the small things. I asked her the questions listed below.
Interview Questions
- What is your greatest parenting challenge at the moment?
- What is your greatest parenting joy at the moment?
- What don’t you miss when you’re away from home?
- What do you miss the most when you’re away from home?
Introduce yourself
I’m Jennifer Borget, and my blog is Cherish 365.
What is your greatest parenting challenge at the moment?
My greatest challenge with parenting isn’t so much a parenting aspect as it is about getting everything done that I need to do. With our decision to homeschool recently, it’s been a challenge to get all my work done after we get all the school work done. But we just take it day by day, and when we get it all done, it’s a big win.
What is your greatest parenting joy at the moment?
There are so many! I love how they are so joyful and have so much love to give. I’ve been FaceTiming them while we have been out of town, and it’s been like, “Oh, it’s Mom! I want to talk to Mom!” They are so sweet. And when you’re away from them, you start to miss them even more, and those little details that you probably take for granted when you’re with them every day.
What don’t you miss when you’re away from home?
Never being alone. Not even in the bathroom or anywhere! If I could get 20 minutes alone while they are awake every day, that would be great.
What do you miss the most when you’re away from home?
I miss the snuggling. They like to come and sit on my lap, and I like to just cuddle them.
