A Cheeky Poke Bar recently opened up near me. Oh my! Their bowls are so delicious and nutritious! It’s become one of my favourite places my sister and I visit when she is visiting from the country. The above pic is their Signature Poke Bowl – Chicken which is my current favourite. Below is the list of ingredients:
- chicken
- brown rice
- oak lettuce
- spinach
- carrot
- beetroot
- corn
- creamy Asian sauce
- wasabi peas
- avocado
- Cheeky nori
- sesame
- togarashi
- salt
My husband and I were deciding on what to make for our traditional family Sunday lunch, and I thought I might buy a heap of fresh ingredients so people could make their own version of bowls. As a general guide, I try and pick a main protein, a main base (rice/couscous), a variety of fresh veggies and then something with crunch. Below is the list of products I purchased for our version:
- lettuce
- cherry tomato
- cabbage
- mushroom
- cucumber
- carrot
- rice
- couscous
- shredded chicken
- spicy and crispy broad beans (got them from Woolies — so YUM!)
- Fried Noodles
- Nori
- Thousand Island sauce
Earlier this year, I was part of a kickstarter campaign for Prepd silicone trays. They are designed to separate food items in the oven, but they work brilliantly to serve food too.
