Welcome to Be A Fun Mum!
Meet the team of Be A Fun Mum. This team of mothers have been drawn to this blog through natural causes over time and you know what? That is what Be A Fun Mum is all about. It’s about creating something of value in your own families that forms a deep well to carry through and nourish the generations.
Kelly – Founder
Kelly is the founder of Be A Fun Mum. She loves life at both ends of the spectrum: wearing high heel shoes one day and hiking boots the next; sipping tea out of a pretty cup and slurping hot coffee from a camping mug; challenging herself physically and stopping for long quiet unhurried moments to feel the wind on her face. Kelly and her husband Matthew seek to live a fun and adventurous life with their four children and pet bird.
Fun Mum Tip
Embrace the beautiful mum you are, and run with it!

Cath – Article Writer
Cath is the Be A Fun Mum all-round article writer. She can turn her hand to anything! If you drop in on Cath at home, you’re likely to find her household in a state of happy chaos. She loves reading, being outdoors and travelling with her husband and three children. When she’s not spending time with family, Cath is indulging her love of writing at Be a Fun Mum… She knew that journalism degree would come in handy one day!
Fun Mum Tip
Laugh lots with your children. Laugh at yourself, watch comedies together, share jokes at the dinner table, encourage frivolity. It will make for treasured family memories

Bernie – Behind the Scenes
Bernie helps with the behind the scenes action at Be A Fun Mum. This could be anything from assisting with photo shoots to writing occasional articles. She’s one of those handy versatile people to have around. Bernie likes collecting eggs from her sweet chickens in the morning and snuggling with two cute dogs on the sofa in the evening. In between, you’ll find her loving her 1 husband and 3 kids, baking for craft stalls, creating outfits for small animals, teaching kids with special needs and making her friends laugh. She sometimes does the washing too.
Fun Mum Tip
Being a Mum is like riding a fast roller coaster. It’s thrilling, exciting and at times pretty scary. My tip is to hold on tight, enjoy the ride and try to avoid the projectile vomit.

Rebecca – House & Home Writer
Rebecca is Be A Fun Mum’s home and design guru. She is a wife, mother of three girls, and business owner of Signature Homewares. Formerly a Drama teacher, Rebecca has always had a passion for home making and derives great pleasure from creating warm family spaces that are both liveable and stylish. Rebecca fine-tuned her style after renovating several homes, drawing inspiration from classic French and English interiors, with a relaxed, casual twist. Signature Homewares was birthed with a desire to source unique and affordable products, with a strong emphasis on personalised service, encouraging women to be confident in their own signature style.
Fun Mum Tip
Fine-tune the art of improvising! The unexpected; both wonderful, slightly disastrous and everything in between is part of the job description. It is hard to find the energy or the creativity some days, but learning how (or at least attempt!) to ‘make something’ out of ANY situation is a fantastic approach to family life.

Renee – Gardening
Renee is Be A Fun Mum’s resident gardener and self-confessed fun maker. She admits to not being the world’s best gardener, but believes that getting kids into the garden is one of the most important experiences. It’s a way to teach children about the environment, food production, healthy living, science and sustainable practices in a fun and physical way. You can see more of Renee’s fun gardening projects here: www.aboutthegarden.com.au
Fun Mum Tip
Laugh. Laugh at your success, laugh at your failures, laugh with your children, laugh at yourself, laugh when you feel like crying, just laugh. Laughter is my reminder that even though my life is crazy and even when I’m having a bad day, that joy can be found in the smallest most insignificant things. Laughter makes my home a happy place to be.

Rachel – Fashion
Rachel is a Brisbane based, 40+, married mum of two girls. She works full-time in a legal office and blogs part-time over at Redcliffe Style. Rachel loves beauty and makeup but she’s busy (mixed with a little lazy), so pass her some gorgeous products, give her 5 minutes and a spritz of perfume and she’s done.
Rachel strongly believes style is where you find it. It doesn’t have to cost thousands, it just has to make you feel a million bucks. With a limited budget, she looks for pieces she loves and can wear over and over and is always hunting for that fabulous bargain. She does not buy fleeting, one-wear items… ever!
Fun Mum Tip
Find activities you enjoy doing together. It makes it so make better when everyone is enjoying it!

Bec – Article Writer & Social Media Manager
Bec is a plumber and stylist, believing a girl can be both practical and stylish – at the same time. At present, she is a stay-at-home mum and jokes that she changes more nappies than washers these days. She is a mum to three little girls (5, 2, 1) who she styles on a daily basis. Rebecca loves to read (when she can), shop for clothes (when she has spare cash) and simultaneously scroll through Facebook and watch Netflix (when she has time). Bec writes two blogs: The Plumbette (http://www.theplumbette.com.
Fun Mum Tip
Make an effort to share new experiences with your children. Don’t let tiredness rob you of memories that could be made by simply trying something new or different. You might surprise yourself and enjoy the new experience too.
Pip – Kid Craft
Pip is Kelly’s 12-year-old daughter. She loves making up elaborate games for her two younger siblings, making stop motion videos, writing stories and creating all day long. She has a creative mind, great ideas and loves having fun with her mum, dad and siblings.
